Children’s Faith Development and HI-life
The faith development of elementary and preschool children centers on the HI-life theme of the month. HI-life Gatherings include in-depth learning sessions for elementary age children and their parents.

HI-Life is based on the premise that “passing on the faith” is more effectively accomplished through an intergenerational, family-based, apprenticeship model of faith formation rather than a “schooling model”.

Both parents and children attend our HI-life Gatherings – no child is dropped off! They learn together about our Catholic faith and are expected to continue the learning at home, aided by resources in the HI-life@home kit.

Additional parent and child sessions are offered to help prepare children for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

The faith development process for children involves:
  • Participation in parish life, particularly weekly attendance at the weekend liturgy
  • Participation in monthly intergenerational HI-life Gatherings
  • Faith formation at home, aided by the materials provided in the HI-life@home kit
  • Participation in enrichment opportunities for children and parents
