Commissions Overview

Our parish vision statement charges us to be good stewards of God’s gifts and effective evangelists in today’s world. In addition to Planning and Operations, five commissions provide the overall organizational structure for implementing our vision:

  • Faith Development Commission
  • Liturgical Commission
  • Parish Life Commission
  • Peace, Justice, and Human Concerns Commission
  • Stewardship Commission

A brief description of each commission follows.  To review the recent successes and objectives of each commission, see our annual Parish Plan. To review descriptions of the ministries within each commission, see Stewardship & Evangelization Opportunities.

All parishioners are challenged to support our parish vision by sharing their time, talent and treasure through involvement in parish and / or outreach ministries.  Using the information provided on this website, in the annual Parish Plan, and in Stewardship & Evangelization Opportunities, please reflect and pray over how best to share your God-given gifts.  Then contact a commission chair or the coordinator of a particular ministry to volunteer.

Stewardship Commission
To make Holy Infant the most vibrant community it can be, all parishioners must embrace stewardship. Openness to stewardship allows us, with faith and gratitude, to know in our hearts that all we have is a gift from God and to consistently and willingly share those gifts. Giving freely of time, talent, and treasure defines who we are and is a necessary role for everyone in our faith community. The Stewardship Commission hosts events to welcome new members to our parish community, partners with the Finance Council to encourage the sharing of treasure, and encourages all parishioners to become involved in the councils, ministries, and committees that make our parish vibrant.

Faith Development Commission
The Faith Development Commission helps to discern the faith development needs of the parish and helps set goals and objectives to ensure this development. The purview of this commission is the faith formation of all members of the parish community at every stage of Christian life, including all sacramental preparation and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

Liturgical Commission
Our parish community celebrates the weekly Eucharistic Liturgy as the source and summit of its Christian life. Every member is encouraged to take their proper ministerial role in this assembly. We also wish to create a welcoming spirit among parishioners by developing an atmosphere of hospitality before, during and after each liturgy by forming good liturgical ministers, offering quality liturgical music, and promoting full, active and conscious participation in the liturgy by all members. The purpose of the Liturgical Commission is to enrich, catechize, evangelize and support the faith community by acknowledging God's presence in the preparation and celebration of our liturgical life.

Parish Life Commission
The purpose of the Parish Life Commission is to develop and enhance parish life through community building and fellowship by offering events and programs to enrich and support the lives of all parishioners.

Peace, Justice, and Human Concerns Commission
The Peace, Justice and Human Concerns Commission works to promote the awareness of social justice issues. It seeks to publicize opportunities for outreach activities, provide educational materials and make suggestions to the pastor concerning the disbursement of our Charity and Justice funds.
