Qualifications:
- Competence in using the shared Christian praxis learning methodology (life experience – Christian story – life application)
- Willingness and ability to speak with conviction about one’s own Catholic faith
- Understanding the content of the learning process: Church Year, sacraments, justice, prayer and spirituality, etc.
- Familiarity with the Generations of Faith approach to faith formation
- Familiarity with learning styles, multiple intelligences, and experiential learning
- Understanding psychological development and faith growth of group(s) being taught
- Ability to lead a group discussion and facilitate faith sharing activities
- Ability to use multimedia in a learning setting
- Ability to lead prayer
Commitment:
- Service from August to May
- Independent learning & preparation (about 1.5 hours per month)
- One planning meeting per month (about 2 hours)
- One HI-life Gathering per month (3+ hours)
Training Required:
- Two orientation sessions
- Safe Environment Seminar
- Monthly independent learning using the Generations of Faith Online Learning Center and reading background material for each session
- Monthly planning meetings
Responsible to:
- Director of Faith Development and Coordinator(s) for monthly HI-life Gathering
Supervision/Support:
- Monthly preparation meetings
- Brief processing session at the end of each Gathering
