We're excited to again offer youth Grades 3 through 8 the opportunity to sing as part of a special choir for the 4:00pm Mass on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th.
In addition to leading the assembly in song during Mass, the choir will present a service of lessons and carols beginning approximately 3:30pm before Mass begins. We'll sing a wide range of music in different styles and traditions, many familiar carols and some new. In addition to singing as part of the choir, there will be opportunities to serve as readers, ring handbells, play some percussion instruments, and sing vocal solos. Our aim is not only to enrich our parish with beautiful music but also to provide an experience for the choir members to grow as disciples of Christ and young ministers of music.
Requirements for participation are...
Choir members are expected to remain on task for rehearsals and during the liturgy, in addition to being respectful to their peers and adult leaders.
If your child is in high school, they are eligible to sing as part of one of our regular choirs for Christmas or any time during the year.
If you have any questions, please email the director of music, Jeff Rice
